잭팟은 현급 일시불 지급의 경우 9,330만 달러로
추정되며, 분할 지급일 경우 1억 7,100만 달러를
29년간 30회 분할로 매년 균등 지급 받게 되는
셈입니다.

게임(사람)이 10만 달러씩을 벌게 되었다고
합니다. 티켓은 애리조나, 인디애나(2),
켄터키(2), 뉴멕시코(2), 미주리주,
펜실베이니아(2), 로드아일랜드,
사우스캐롤라이나, 테네시, 위스콘신과
웨스트버지니아에서 팔렸다지요.
미국의 로또 애호가들은 지난 주 수요일과
토요일의 밤 사이에서
3,800만 달러 이상의 티켓을

Powerball Jackpot 10th Largest Ever at $171
Million!

(Powerball) Next Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot
will be the 10th largest ever in the history of
America’s favorite game. There were no Powerball
jackpot winners Saturday but an incredible
1,021,839 prizes were paid out for a total of more
than $10.2 million worth of winnings.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers
in Saturday’s drawing the jackpot will grow to an
estimated $171 million.
The cash option for the Wednesday, December 8
drawing will be an estimated $93.3 million.
The numbers drawn were: 6, 9, 16, 22, 30 and the
Powerball was 4. The Power Play multiplier was
4.
Fifteen players correctly matched the 5 white
numbers and won $100,000. The tickets were sold in
Arizona, Indiana (2), Kentucky (2), New Mexico
(2), Missouri, Pennsylvania (2), Rhode Island,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and West
Virginia. Four additional players from
Connecticut, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Vermont
not only matched the 5 white numbers but also
purchased the Power Play option. By doing
so, their winnings were multiplied by 4 for a
total prize worth $400,000.
Eighty-two players matched 4 white numbers plus
the Powerball and won $5,000. Eight
additional players not only matched 4+1, but also
purchased the Power Play option giving them a
total win of $20,000.
More than 103,000 winning Powerball plays were
multiplied by 4. Winners were able to do that by
purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar.
With Power Play you can multiply your winnings,
except for the jackpot, from 2 to 5 times. At the
beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to
select that night’s multiplier.
Players purchased more than $38 million in tickets
between Wednesday and Saturday night.
The lotteries sold more than $2.2 billion in
Powerball tickets in FY04. That translates into
more than $660 million for worthwhile state
projects.
Powerball is now played in 27 states, the District
of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
