Mystery surrounds the SuperEnalotto on Sunday (August 23) as locals are desperate to find out who is behind the winning ticket. Rumours about the lucky person's identity are spreading across Bagnone, Italy, where the ticket was bought.

23일(현지 시간) 슈퍼에날로또(SuperEnalotto)의 당첨 결과를 두고 주민들이 당첨자가 누구인지 무척 궁금해 하고 있다. 이 행운의 당첨자가 누구인지에 대한 소문이 당첨 복권이 판매된 이탈리아 바그노네 전역에 퍼져나갔다.

"I am happy. I hope that this person can do something useful for our village", said one of the locals outside the lucky Biffi Bar, where one lucky Italian scooped Europe's biggest lottery last night, winning 147 million euros, (210.5 million U.S. dollars).

행운의 당첨자가 복권을 구매한 비피 커피숍 앞에서 한 주민이 “기쁘다. 당첨자가 마을을 위해서도 돈을 썼으면 좋겠다”고 말했다. 비피 커피숍은 지난 밤 당청금 1억 4700만 유로(한화 약 2619억 원)의 복권이 팔린 곳으로 이는 유럽 복권 사상 최고 당첨금액이다.

"I didn't win yesterday night. My son-in law checked for me too because I wanted to be sure" said one woman.

한 주민은 “나는 당첨자가 아니다. 내가 확실히 알고 싶어하니까 내 사위가 확인해 줬다”고 말했다.

Others are hoping the winner will be charitable."I hope that this event allows Bagnone to be more famous. I hope that the winner can help poor people both in Italy and in Africa

"다른 사람들은 이 행운의 주인공이 자선활동에도 당첨금을 사용하기를 바란다.“바그노네가 복권 당첨자를 배출한 덕에 더욱 널리 알려지기를 바란다. 그가 이탈리아와 아프리카의 어려운 사람을 도왔으면 좋겠다.”

It was the first time anyone had won the state-run SuperEnalotto since January. The previous biggest jackpot in its 12-year history was 100 million euros. More than 700 million euros was spent on tickets as the jackpot continued to grow. But the biggest winner may be the government, which takes about half the revenue.

1월 이후로 국가에서 운영하는 수퍼에날로또에 당첨자가 나온 것은 이번이 처음이다. 지난 12년 동안 최고 당첨 금액은 1억 유로(한화 약 1781억 원)였다. 당첨금이 누적돼 액수가 커지자 복권 판매금액이 7억 유로(한화 약 1조 2400억 원)를 넘어섰다. 하지만 복권 판매의 최대 수혜자는 총 판매액의 절반에 해당하는 돈을 벌어들인 정부가 될 것 같다.

"There is a new atmosphere here today. Everybody can feel this, and friends are calling us from everywhere," said the owner of the Biffi tobacconist shop.

복권을 판매한 비피 커피숍의 주인은 “오늘 가게 분위기가 전혀 달라졌다. 모두 그것을 느끼고 있다. 친구들이 곳곳에서 전화를 해오고 있다”고 말했다.

The rising jackpot had sparked a betting frenzy across Italy and even lured tourists from neighbouring countries to play.

당첨금이 커지자 이탈리아 전역에 복권 구입 열풍이 불었다. 뿐만 아니라 이웃 나라에서 온 관광객들도 복권을 사 갔다.

Italian state news agency Ansa reported the winner, whose name was not disclosed, had spent just two euros on the ticket.

이탈리아의 국영 안사(Ansa) 통신사는 신분을 공개하지 않은 이 당첨자가 산 복권은 겨우 2유로(한화 약 3500원) 어치라고 전했다.
